Critical studies have shown that humans are more open to learning and exploring concepts and ideas when they feel connected. In this workshop, we will explore vulnerability through work with our identity and values and how they show up for us as educators. Some themes we will explore are:
  • Activities around how our identity and values shape our worldview, view on education, and views on engaging with students.
  • Exploring Whiteness and how it shows up in individuals and the education systems.
  • Tangible skills/exercises that can be used to build community with students and school staff
